Hot and Sour Veg Soup Recipe


Ingredients for Hot and Sour Veg Soup Recipe:

Mushroom - 7 to 8, sliced thinly
Corn - 4 to 5, sliced
Cabbage- 1 cup, thinly sliced
Carrot - 1, sliced
French beans - 1 cup, sliced
Capsicum - 1, sliced thinly
Soya Sauce - 1 tbsp
Vinegar - 1/4th cup
Garlic - 4 flakes, chopped
Ginger - 2" julienned
Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt, as required
Cornflour - 4 tbsp
Green chili - 1, finely chopped
Pepper - 1 tsp

Method for Hot and Sour Veg Soup Recipe:

Heat a wok and add oil. Saute garlic and ginger, add vegetables and saute till soft.

Add 4 cups of water and allow to cook.

Add soya sauce, vinegar, green chili, pepper and salt. Mix well. Let it boil.

Slow down the gas. Mix cornflour with enough water to make paste. Add this to the soup. Keep stirring.

Serve hot.

Almond Jade Stir fry recipe

Ingredients for Almond Jade Stir Fry Recipe:

Olive oil - 1 tbsp
Almonds - 1/2 cup, blanched
Garlic - 2 flakes, halved
Carrot - 1 sliced
Bell peppers - 2 no, sliced
Mushroom - 100 gm, sliced
French beans - 100 gm, sliced
Ginger - 2", finely chopped
Water - 5 tbsp
Soya sauce - 3 tbsp
Cornstarch - 2 tbsp
Salt, as required
Pepper, as required
Sesame oil - 1 tsp


Method for Almond Jade Stir Fry Recipe:

Heat olive oil in a skillet or over a non-stick pan and add garlic.Add almonds and toss lightly until crisp and lightly browned. Cook for 6 - 7 minutes. Remove the almonds and set aside.

In the same pan add the vegetables along with ginger and saute over high heat. Stir-fry until crisp. Reduce the heat.

In a bowl mix soya sauce along with corn starch and water. Mix well and add this mixture to the vegetables. Toss the vegetables for 2 more minutes, season with salt and pepper. Stir in the sesame oil along with the almonds in the vegetable pan.

Serve hot with brown rice or tossed noodles.

Shredded Chicken with Sesame seeds Recipe


Ingredients for Shredded Chicken with Sesame Seeds Recipe:

Boneless chicken breast - 225 gm
Egg white - 1
Salt, as required
Cornflour - 2 tsp
White sesame seeds - 1 tbsp
Oil, for frying

Ingredients for the sauce:

Dark soya sauce - 1 tsp
Vinegar - 1 tsp
Chili sauce - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 1/2 tsp
Sugar - 1 tsp
Rice wine - 2 tsp
Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
Spring onions - 1 stalk, chopped

Method for Shredded Chicken with Sesame Seeds Recipe:

Combine shredded chicken with egg white, salt, cornflour and mix well. Refrigerate the mixture for 10 minutes.

Heat oil in a skillet andg  add the chicken mixture. Keep stirring the mixture in order to prevent them from sticking.

Cook for 2 to 3 minutes and set aside on a absorbent paper.

Clean the skillet with absorbent paper and reheat it with 1 tsp oil.

Add sesame seeds abd stir-fry on medium heat for a minute.

Mix the sauce ingredients together and add it to the sesame seeds, bring to boil.

Add to this the chicken and saute on high fire for 2 minutes.

Serve hot.

Momos Recipe

Ingredients for Momos Recipe: 

Refined flour - 1 cup
Oil - 2 tsp
Salt, as required

Ingredients for the filling:

Mutton / Beef / Chicken mince - 100 gm
Garlic - 2 flakes chopped
Ginger - 2", finely chopped
Cabbage - 2 tbsp, finely shredded
Mushrooms - 5 / 6, finely sliced
Carrot - 1, finely shredded
Green chili - 2, finely chopped
Soya sauce - 1 tsp
Salt, as required

Method for Momos Recipe:

Mix all the ingredients for the filling and set aside.

Place the refined flour in a bowl and add the oil and salt. Add enough water and knead into a firm dough. Cover and keep aside for about 30 minutes,

Once again knead the dough and divide the dough into 12 equal sized balls. Roll out each ball into 6 cm flat round on a well floured surface. Place some portion of the prepared filling on one half of the round and cover the other half on it to cover. Seal the ends by pressing them firmly on each other. Repeat the same with the rest and arrange each of them on a steamer leaving inch apart distance between each.

Steam them for 20 minutes. Once done, remove in the serving plate and serve with hot garlic sauce or tomato chili sauce.

Please note: You can prepare these momos with vegetables only if you don't wish to add the chicken or mutton.

Crispy Chicken Dumplings Recipe

 Ingredients for Crispy Chicken Dumplings Recipe: 

Boneless Chicken breast - 225 gm
Egg white - 2
Cornflour - 2 tsp
Rice wine - 2 tsp
Ginger - 1" julienned
Spring onions - 1 stalk, chopped
Salt, as required
Cornflour - 25 gm,g for dusti
Oil, for frying

Ingredients for the sauce:

Vinegar - 1 tbsp
Garlic - 2 tsp, chopped
Dark soya sauce - 1 tbsp
Chili sauce - 1 tsp

Method for Crispy Chicken Dumplings Recipe:

In a bowl mix chicken with egg whites, cornflour, rice wine, ginger, spring onion and salt. With a hand blender blend the items well.

Grease a plate which fits inside a steamer with little oil and spread the chicken mixture over it evenly. Steam the mixture for 15 minutes. Cook the mixture till chicken is cooked and firm. Remove the chicken from the steamer and set aside to cool.

Once cool cut the chicken mixture into small pieces. Dust the chicken pieces with cornflour and deep fry them till golden brown.

Mix the sauce ingredients together to prepare the sauce.

Serve the fried Chicken dumplings with the sauce.

Egg Fu Yung Recipe

Ingredients for Egg Fu Yung Recipe: 

Boneless fish - 1/2 cup, cut into long slices 1/2 inch each
Eggs - 6, slightly whipped
Mushroom - 200 gm, sliced
Onions - 2 large, finely chopped
Green peas - 1/2 cup, boiled
Oil - 3 tbsp
Sherry - 1 tsp
Salt, as required
Pepper, as required

Method for Egg Fu Yung Recipe:

In a fry pan heat oil. Add onions and mushroom. Saute.

Add to this fish slices, salt and pepper. Mix well. Cover and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Set aside.

In a bowl add the mushroom onion mix with eggs.

Heat other fry pan. Add oil and pour over the egg mix.

Allow the mix to cook like an omelette. Garnish the egg mix with boiled peas.

Serve hot.

Please note: You can add shrimps in place of boneless fish. If Sherry not available add white wine.

Chili Garlic Shrimps Recipe

Ingredients for Chili Garlic Shrimps Recipe:

Shrimps - 500 gm, de-veined
Garlic - 6 cloves
Lemon juice - 3 tbsp
Red chili - 1, chopped
Ginger - 10 gm
Sugar - 2 tsp
Soy sauce - 15 ml
Vegetable oil - 15 ml
Sesame oil - 1  tsp
Lemon juice - 10 ml
Coriander, for garnishing
Salt, as required

Method for Chili Garlic Shrimps Recipe:

Pound ginger, garlic, chili and sugar to fine paste.

Mix this paste with soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice and salt to prepare the marinade.

Marinade the shrimps in this mixture for at least an hour.

Heat the vegetable oil in a wok and saute the marinated shrimps in it for 5 minutes or till done.

Garnish with coriander and serve hot.

Chicken Chili Dry Recipe

One of the awesome starters, Chicken chili dry is very easy to make and can be quickly planned if you have all the required ingredients handy. This is how I make my Chicken chili dry.


Ingredients for Chicken Chili Dry recipe:

Chicken - 250 gm, boneless, diced
Egg white - 1
Cornflour - 2 tbsp
Mushroom - 100 gm, cut in halves
Corn - 100 gm, cut into 3 pieces
Capsicum - 2 medium, cut in cubes
Spring onion - 2 nos. chopped
Green chilies - 3, thinly sliced
Soya sauce - 2 tbsp
Garlic - 10 flakes, chopped
Ginger - 2" chopped
Sugar - 1 tsp
Salt, as required
Oil, for frying

Method for Chicken Chili Dry recipe:

Mix egg white with 1 tbsp cornflour, roll the diced chicken in this mixture and deep fry until light golden in color. Keep aside.

Heat a pan and add oil to it. Saute garlic and ginger in this for a while and add all the vegetables and chicken to it along with the green chilies. Saute well.

Add soya sauce, sugar and salt and keep stirring.

Mix rest of the cornflour with little water and add to the chicken and continue stirring till the chicken gets a glaze.

Serve hot.
