Mutton Paya Masala Recipe

Mutton Paya Masala is an authentic Indian Recipe, very popular and delicious. Though everyone consider that Mutton Paya Masala is very difficult to make, I would definitely say that no, its not! Follow this simple steps which include simple ingredients and make delicious Paya Masala.

Mutton Paya Masala
Ingredients for Mutton Paya Masala Recipe:

Mutton Paya - 6 no. (cut into long pieces)
Onion - 2 big, finely chopped
Tomato - 2 big, finely chopped
Green chillies - 1, chopped
Red Chili Powder - 1 - 2 tsp
Meat Masala - 1 tsp
Cardamom - 2 nos.
Cinnamon Stick - 1"
Cloves - 2 no
Coriander Powder - 2 tsp
Coriander - 1 cup chopped
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
Curry Leaves - 20 no
Bay leaves - 2 nos
Salt, as per taste

Method for Mutton Paya Masala Recipe:

Clean Mutton Paya properly and pressure cook with salt ad water. For cooking instructions, read How to cook Mutton Paya Perfectly. Set aside.

Heat a big deep bottom pan and add bay leaves. Add cinnamon sticks, cardomom, cloves and saute.

Now add to this curry leaves, chopped onions, green chillies and continue to fry. Add the red chilli powder, meat masala, Coriander powder and keep stirring.

Add to this the cooked paya along with the water in which the paya was cooked. Cook till it boils and cook further for 5 - 7 minutes.

Garnish with coriander and serve hot.

Tip: Mutton Paya means Mutton Legs. Mutton Paya is considered to be very healthy and is usually the Mutton Paya Masala is cooked during winters or when someone catches cold. Serve Mutton Paya Masala with bread slice, sliced onions, lemon wedges and salad.
