Foods one should indulge in during summer

Summer is all about staying hydrated and energised all the time to beat the heat. This summer, try and indulge in foods which provide you that extra zest and helps your body to stay in rhythm of the season and helps to adapt to the changed weather. Here's a list of the foods one should indulge in during summer:

- Drink plenty of fluids especially water.

- Other fluids may include homemade fresh fruit juices, mojito, buttermilk, fresh lime juice, unsweetened juices and water based beverages.

- Indulge in at least two - three servings of fresh fruits. This helps rehydrate and cool your body and also provide extra zest.

- Fresh vegetable salads provide body with much needed vitamins and minerals.

- Indulge in fruits that promise your body high water and electrolyte content to make up for the loss of sweat.

- Include fruits such as orange, sweet lime, grapes, watermelon, muskmelon, cantaloupes, berries, pineapple and tomatoes.

- Include sugarcane juice, watermelon juice, coconut water, herbal ice tea and lime juice in your diet.

- To take care of your energy levels include summer fruits such as banana, papaya, mangoes, chickoos and guavas.

- Include fresh sprouts and tofu in your salads to cool and cleanse your system.

- Avoid fried foods rather indulge in steamed foods and boiled food options.
