What is Peptic Ulcer

Peptic Ulcer
Peptic Ulcer is like a sore which is formed on the lining of your stomach or duodenum. Now let me first tell you what is Duodenum. Duodenum is the first part of your small intestine, I mean this is the part where your food enters first. So the Peptic Ulcer can get on either on your stomach lining or the Duodenum lining. The ulcer which forms on the Stomach lining is referred as Gastric Ulcer. And the one that forms on your Duodenum lining is called Duodenal Ulcer. So now you know what actually Peptic Ulcer is. So Peptic Ulcer is nothing but either a Gastric Ulcer or a Duodenal Ulcer.

There are possibilities that a Peptic Ulcer may develop in the Esophagus. But than that is a rare possibility though one can't deny it.
