Gaajar ka Halwa Recipe - Simple and Delicious

Gaajar ka Halwa, i.e. Carrot Halwa is an Indian sweet dish, amazingly simple yet delicious. Learn this recipe in simple steps mentioned below.

Gaajar Ka Halwa
Ingredients for Gaajar Ka Halwa Recipe:

Gaajar (Carrots) - 5 big, peeled and grated
Sugar - 4 tbsp 
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Milk - 2 cups
Khoya - 1 tbsp (optional)
Dry fruits, for garnishing (Optional)

Method for Gaajar Ka Halwa:

Heat ghee in a pressure pan. Add the grated carrots and saute for sometime.

Add sugar and mix well. Add the milk and khoya and mix further.

Cover the pressure pan with the lid and take 3 whistles.

Allow the pressure to cool down, open and transfer the contents in a serving bowl.

Can serve hot or chilled.

Tip: Gaajar Ka Halwa is deliciouc recipe, my favorite. I cook it very often. Its very easy to cook if you do it in a pressure pan. Pressure pan allows the halwa to cook quickly and thus takes less time. Additionally you don't really need to keep a watch every now and then. Supposedly when you open the pressure pan and find too much milk left over in the halwa then mix well and keep it on a low heat to simmer for 5 minutes. The gaajar ka halwa will come out fine.
