Chicken in Green Masala Recipe

 Chicken in Green Masala is an amazing dish which tastes awesome. Very simple and easy to cook. Try it out.

Ingredients for Chicken in Green Masala Recipe:

Chicken - 1 kg, cut into big pieces
Coconut - 2 tbsp, grated
Coriander - 1 cup, chopped
Garlic - 6 / 8 flakes
Ginger - 2"
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Green chillies - 8 nos
Curd - 1 cup, preferably thick
Cloves - 2 nos
White Vinegar - 1/4 cup
White Cardamoms - 3 nos
Asafoetida (Hing) - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 4 tbsp
Ghee - 1 tsp
Salt, as required

Method for Chicken in Green Masala Recipe:

Grind coconut, coriander, green chillies, garlic and ginger to a fine paste.

Churn the curd and add vinegar to it. Mix the green paste to it. Mix it well. Add salt and mix further.

Heat a deep bottom pan or preferably a pressure pan and add oil to it. Add the chicken and asafoetida. Keep stirring for a while and then add the curd. Mix the contents of the pan well.

Add 1 cup hot water and put on the lid of the pressure pan. Continue to cook for 12 minutes. Put off the fire. Allow the steam to release on its own.

In a small pan, heat ghee. Add cloves and cardamom. Open the pan and pour the ghee over the chicken. Boil the chicken for 5 more minutes. 

Garnish with coriander and Serve hot.

Tip: Chicken in Green Masala is a Goan Recipe and tastes lovely. Serve Chicken in Green Masala with bread slices or Roti along with onion slices and lemon wedges.
