About Almonds:

Aren't we all aware of the goodness of almonds in our daily life. Almonds are known to good for us if consumed daily. I still remember how my mom used to soak almonds overnight and would give me to eat the first thing in the morning everyday, as it is assumed to be helpful in sharpening your memory. I still do the same for my child. Eating almonds is said to have great benefits for our body in long run. Almonds are known to work wonders for young growing mind and body. Almonds are known to give energy without increasing the cholesterol levels.

Intake of almonds for vegetarians:

As we all know that almonds are rich in proteins, Vitamin E and zinc, hence their intake becomes essential for our body, especially for vegetarians. Since vegetarians don't include meat and egg in their daily foods, the levels of proteins that the body requires can be easily satisfied by eating almonds.

Intake of almonds for athletes:

Eating almonds is beneficial for athletes too as it helps in keeping bones stronger and even the intake of almonds helps the muscles to release energy.

Intake of almonds for people who diet:


Dieters should consume almonds in good quantity as they help them with good nourishment. A handful of almonds if consumed by dieters could definitely prove to beneficial. Few people carry myths including snacking almonds could gain weight. The fact is though almonds include fat it would definitely not increase weight as long as you keep a watch on your eating and calorie intake.



How to include almonds as part of your daily meals:

To include almonds as part of your and your family's daily meals try the following ways:

1. Roast the almonds and give them as a snack, the way you eat roasted peanuts.

2. Roasted or baked almonds can also be added in muesli, cornflakes or wheat flakes along with fruits.

3. Roasted or baked almonds could also be mixed in salads for a crunchy and nutty flavor. You could add them whole or sliced as preferred.

4. Add almonds as a filling in home made chocolates for your kids to eat them if not eaten directly by them.

5. Handful of almonds can also be eaten raw as part of breakfast everyday.

6. Soak almonds overnight and ask your child to eat them first thing in the morning for enhanced memory powers.

7. Use almond butter regularly in your foods in place of mayonnaise or sandwich spreads.
