Red chili Thecha Recipe

A popular chutney and an accompaniment, Red chili thecha is served in most Maharashtrian household. Accompanies well with theplas, parathas, rotis, khichdis. Very easy to make and can be stored for longer periods.

Ingredients for Red Chili Thecha Recipe:


Dry red chili - 1 1/2 cup
Garlic - 8-10 cloves
Peanuts - 1/2 cup
Oil - 1/4 cup
Mustard - 1/2 tsp
Hing - 1/2 tsp
Salt, as required

Method for Red Chili Thecha Recipe:

Soak red chilies for 30 minutes.

Grind red chilies, garlic cloves, peanuts and salt.

Remove the red chili thecha in a bowl. Pour over tempering of oil, hing and mustard.

Store the red chili thecha in a airtight container and refrigerate, if to be stored for longer period.

Please note: The tempering is optional. You can use the red chili thecha without tempering.
