Kokam

Kokam can be referred as a fruit found in the coastal areas of India. Kokam is used in most of the staple diet all over India, especially in Konkan. Kokam is not only used for spicing the food but also due to its medicinal properties. Kokam is considered as an antiseptic, a coolant, an anti-allergic and anthelmintic in nature. Kokam is useful as a medicine for various ailments like dysentery, Cardiac disorders, Digestion and many more. In Konkan, kokam is referred as Sol and is used in cooking fish. Sol Kadhi is one dish that is made with Kokams and known as good for digestion.
